This set works pretty good but the instructions are a little confusing. You figure it out by fumbling with the buttons. The buttons are small and if you or your passenger hits the wrong one you loose comm. takes a while to learn where they are and which one does what even without gloves on . However, it works pretty good , it’s an inexpensive setup and and sound quality is good.
We bought these for my son and I for snowmobiling. They worked great! It’s a little touchy to pair the communicators and get the intercoms to work... follow directions carefully and be patient. Once paired... works awesome! Installing on helmets was easy. Holds up to wind (the device and antenna on the outside of your helmet) just fine. Ran these things in temps of 5 to 15 degrees above zero with no issues. So what about real world quality and distance? You are crystal clear out to 300 to 500 yards. You don’t have to be lone of sight to be clear. If you have trees between you, like on a winding trail, you are fine if you are within 300-500 yards... if you go over a steep hill it will cut some distance and get scratchy but it’s only temporary. You can communicate up to about 1/2 mile (800ish yards)... but it gets scratchy and dicey in that 500-800 yard range. If you are riding sleds with a partner or in a group you are likely to be within 500 yards most of the time and for that, you will not find a better communicator for the money. As for talk time? We started them at 8:30 AM and left them on until 5:30 PM in the evening on a full charge. Worked all day, no fade, no issues! We are happy to have them and look forward to a great snowmobile season with them!
