I chose this chair specifically for the adjustable height, and because it is wider than the other chairs available. I gave it 5 stars because it seems well built and well designed, and delivers on it's promises.Even if you don't plan to use it in the shower, I think the waterproof straps are probably better than the typical elastic straps of other chairs, and very easily washable.It measures 23 inches wide a the base. I am a big man and it accommodates me just fine under the chair.The adjustable feature didn't end up working for us though because it isn't quite tall enough even when adjusted to full height, at 13.5 inches. My wife and I are both big persons though, so I think it would work great for any couples of average size. (I think rather than ordering a different chair, I'm going keep this one and modify the base to add a couple more inches.)It comes with a pamphlet giving good instructions and illustrations of assembly and use. As an added bonus, the English translations are VERY entertaining!
