4/1/19 This isn't one of those name brands that cost $$$. Though this isn't for lack of quality. This delivers excellent quality audio and the microphone works inside my helmet with most people not being able to tell I'm riding a motorcycle.Update 6/21/21: I liked mine so much I bought one for the wife's helmet. The helmets connect after getting a feel for the pairing process. The only complaint I would have is that music will not play while you a paired and in com mode. This isn't a real issue at this price point as you can switch back and forth between music and coms with the press of a button.Update 4/7/23: The retaining clip broke on my helmet and the unit fell off. I picked it up and it still worked. I contacted the company and the immediately sent a replacement. This company has top notch customer service and goes above and beyond! ?I always recommend them to friends when they're looking for something great that isn't $$$! Definitely the best for the price!
Operates as described. Good quality for price.
Before telling you how awesome I think this unit is here is what I don't like about it.1) Volume Buttons; Too hard to find with gloves on, Dual use isn't very friendly. Tap them and they move from/tosongs. Hold and its difficult to know where the volume level is at.(Please put more separation between buttons and make more pronounced.)2) It does not have sound level recall. So every time you turn it on you have to adjust the volume up or down toyour tastes. I don't like bleeding ears so I have to turn it down. And on that note...3) Has no Self-adjusting volume. Meaning, as the noise outside increases you hear less inside your helmet.(Please add Self-adjusting volume to your next revision. [BT-SA2])4) The on/off and low battery beeps. The "on" screeches in your ear and the "off" is confusing because unlike the manual it goes Do-Do Screech. Now why do I think these are so awesome? First off I'm a solo rider who loves to listen to music while I ride. The BT-S2 does that. It provides the best stereo separation I've ever heard from a motorcycle intercom so far. Is it living room quality? No, but its pretty darn close when you consider the speaker and unit size in comparison. The sound is crisp and clear from the Garmin 396LM MP3 player. Too bad they don't give the speaker Freq. range; it would be a good selling point. If I were to guess though, the range is probably somewhere between 50~100 Hz to 16~18kHz.Lest we forget, the quality of your MP3 player IS important too. (CSICSO - crappy sound in crappy sound out)My phone (S7) has a nasty habit of turning the Media volume down to 50%. So I have to remember to turn it up. I mention this because I first thought the BT-S2 was the problem of very low sound. Anyway with that resolved playing music and making/receiving calls is not a problem. The voices are clear and understandable on both ends as verified by my wife and nearly deaf mother.Getting the BT-S2 to pair with the GPS was a little frustrating because of the phone. After deleting the phone from the GPS everything was paired again; BT-S2 first then the phone. Life is good again. The hard-mounting they provide doesn't work well (not at all) with wide bottom helmets. Mines a Nolan. They did provide a set of Velcro sticky pads that match the headset. I had my doubts about the Velcro, but they're still holding after a year. I also like the fact that I can just peel the headset off to charge it.To sum up: great stereo sound; its not Bose quality, but then again it doesn't cost a gazillion dollars either. Phone calls are clear and battery life is impressive. Just be sure to fully charge them before a long ride.
